SCIENTIFIC BREAKTHROUGH ALERT – Prof. Erondu Makes GUU Proud in Medical Technology Innovation!
Professor Okechukwu Felix Erondu, Professor of Radiography and the Dean, College of Medical Sciences, Gregory University Uturu, in collaboration with three others, has produced a Medical Imaging Device that is now registered with the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) as well as the UK Designs Office.
Registered under the International Design Class 24 for Medical and Laboratory Equipment, the device integrates efficient sensing, high-quality imaging, and automatic calibration that makes medical diagnosis more accurate and error-free. This medical device will also elevate optical sensing and reduce minor detection errors that were common with the existing conventional systems.
This feat was achieved through interdisciplinary collaboration involving Professor Okechukwu Felix Etondu of Gregory University Uturu; Onu Matthew Ijiga of the Physics Department, Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi, Prof Terver Sombo, and Dr. Perverga Rex Kubu.

The Team Leader of this technological breakthrough, Prof. Erondu, emphasized that the innovation was inspired by his desire to reduce inconsistent medical results and reliability problems associated with manual diagnostic adjustments; maintaining that the new device will also be used in photometry and microscopy.
