The Science Educators Association of Nigeria (SEAN) recently hosted its third international conference at Gregory University, Uturu, with the theme “Promoting STEAM Education Through Research and Innovation in the Digital Age. The conference brought together distinguished educators and scholars to explore the latest developments, innovations, and research in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) education.
The event featured an impressive lineup of esteemed speakers, participants, and distinguished figures in academia, including the keynote speaker, Prof. Uche Uwaoma, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academics. His insightful discourse set the tone for a series of engaging discussions and presentations that followed.
Furthermore, Dr. Evelyn Godwin-Nwakwasi, a prominent lead paper presenter at the event, also shared valuable insights in her presentation, adding to the rich discourse on STEAM education, innovation, and research.
A pivotal moment during the conference was the presentation of the prestigious Fellowship Award to several scholars in the academic field by the national president, Prof. Mariam Zakaria Abakpa. Notably, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Augustine Uwakwe, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Prof. Evaristus Anyaehie, and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics, Prof. Uwaoma Uche, were honored for their exceptional contributions and commitment to education and research.
Other deserving recipients included Dr. Lui Ugwulor, the Head of the Department of Public Health and the Chairman of the local organizing committee for the conference, and Dr. Mrs. Amarachi Azubuike, the Jupeb Director and Head of the Department of Physical and Health Education, who were also acknowledged for their outstanding contributions.
