The National Universities Commission, NUC has commended the Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Professor Gregory Ibe for his giant contributions to the Nigerian education sector.
Leading a four-man NUC monitoring Team to the opening ceremony of the fourth batch of the ongoing Continuous Capacity Building/Training workshop organized for 172 Technologists/Lecturers of 43 Federal and State Universities, taking place at the college of Engineering Complex Gregory University Uturu on the theme “Use of Engineering Equipment for TETFUND/NUC SET PROJECT”, Dr. Victoria Pillah who represented the NUC Executive Secretary, Professor Abubakar Rasheed appreciated Professor Ibe for giving back to the society through his positive contributions to the study of engineering in Nigeria.
She also commended the management of Gregory University Uturu for providing a conducive and enabling environment for the training workshop which is on its second phase having conducted the first phase in 2015.
Earlier in his welcome speech, the Chancellor who also doubles as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Skill G Nigeria Limited thanked NUC for their unalloyed support to the development of university education in Nigeria and noted that the intention of Skill G Nigeria Limited and NUC is to ensure that all Nigerian universities are empowered to transfer engineering knowledge successfully.
Present at the opening ceremony were the Vice Chancellor, Professor Augustine Uwakwe, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor EvaristusAnyaehie and other top management officials of Gregory University Uturu as well as the Academic/Project Manager, Skill G Nigeria Limited, Engr Tomy Ben-Ari.
