GREGORY UNIVERSITY UTURU MAINTAINS ZERO TOLERANCE TO CULTISM – PROF UWAKWE

The Vice Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Prof Augustine Uwakwe has reiterated the Institution’s commitment to the fight against such vices as cultism, drug abuse and sexual assault. Speaking while receiving the Commanding Officer of 143 Ranger Battalion Ovim,Lt. Col. A.U.Illyasu on a courtesy visit to the university, Prof Uwakwe said, ” Gregory University Uturu has from inception maintained a policy of zero tolerance to such deviant behaviours as cultism, drug abuse, examination fraud and sexual assault, thereGregory Universitymaking our campuses free from such vices”.Speaking further, he paid glowing tributes to security agencies in the state for partnering the institution in enforcing discipline on campus.

Earlier in an address, the Commanding Officer of 143 Ranger Battalion Ovim, Lt.Col. A. U. Illyasu disclosed that his team was on a fact finding mission to determine the safety status of the university in readiness for school resumption after the COVID-19 break.

According to him, “our objective is to collaborate with the university management in making the campus environment uninhabitable and ‘unoperateable’ for cultists and other hoodlums. He therefore encouraged GUU management to continue to collaborate with security agencies in keeping the campus free of vices and violence.
