PRESS RELEASE

As a way of mitigating the harsh effects of the present economic situation, the Management of Gregory University Uturu has announced a thirty percent reduction of tuition fees.

Arising from a consultative meeting with the Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission, Prof Abubakar Adamu Rasheed, the Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Dr. Gregory Ibe revealed that the institution took the decision as a response to the suffering occasioned by the biting economic recession.  According to the Chancellor the decision to slash the current tuition fee  is the result of various requests made by many groups including parents, clerics and Igbo leaders during their visit to the school.

Speaking further he said “as a responsible and responsive corporate citizen, this is our way of identifying with our guardians in particular and other stakeholders across the nation who are presently experiencing excruciating times as a result of the economic crunch”.

He therefore enjoined both old and new students to avail themselves of the rare opportunity provided by the reduction to pay their tuition fees, stressing that the exercise will subsist till the nation’s economy recovers from recession.

Subsequently the University management has requested old and prospective students to visit the school website for detailed information on the new fee regime.
